Our Foundation

The Catholic Concern for Animals – Cameroon (CCA-Cam) was founded in 2008 by a passionate group of effective altruists united by their love for animals and a shared commitment to environmental protection. Recognizing the urgent need for animal welfare advocacy in Cameroon, our founders established the organization to address the growing concerns surrounding animal cruelty and environmental degradation.
In the same year of our inception, CCA-Cam was officially registered with the registration number SW/GP02/08/6729, marking the beginning of our journey as a recognized charity dedicated to animal welfare and rights.
Our Mission and Vision

From the outset, CCA-Cam has operated under a clear mission: to end animal cruelty through extensive educational campaigns, advocacy, and outreach programs. We strive to protect the environment by promoting biodiversity and executing projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly in areas related to life on land, life under water, and sustainable food systems.
Our vision is to create a holistic society where all animal species, especially companion animals, are treated humanely, grounded in principles of social justice, respect, and compassion.
Growth and Impact

Over the years, CCA-Cam has grown into a vital force for change in the region, actively engaging communities in animal welfare education and environmental protection. Our dedicated team, comprising professionals from various backgrounds, works tirelessly to implement initiatives that promote humane treatment of animals and sustainable practices.
We have successfully organized outreach programs in rural communities where awareness of animal welfare was minimal, significantly improving the lives of both animals and their owners. Our workshops have empowered children and adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for pets responsibly and to advocate for animal rights.
As we continue our work, CCA-Cam remains committed to expanding our reach and enhancing our impact. We envision future projects focused on the preservation of marine and aquatic life, alongside ongoing educational campaigns aimed at fostering a culture of respect and compassion for all living beings.
